This Thursday, we will have a number of visitors to Rang a 5 agus 6. As part of our Junior Entrepreneur Programme, the pupils will be pitching their business ideas to the ‘dragons’ –  Brian Kearns (Chartered Accountant), Louise Carrroll (Louise Carroll Designs) and Erin O’Kelly *(Deputy Principal Drumlease N.S.). Good luck boys and girls!

5th and 6th class are participating in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP) this year.

Every child proposes an idea and during the 12-16 week programme one is selected as the class business. Each child invests a small amount of capital in the business and receives their share of the profits. It’s not just a business plan, but a real business conceived from scratch with real products and services and real customers who pay for what is produced. It all comes together at the Junior Entrepreneur School Showcase Day. Easy!

Today,  the pupils were finalising their ideas before a selection of ideas are presented to a team of Dragons!

This year, fifth and sixth class will be participating in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP) in school. This programme will give our students experience of practical, real-life business learning. Together, over a 3 to 4 month period, the pupils will chose, develop and produce their own product from scratch. Eventually it will be made available for sale at a showcase day! You can check out this video of one of the schools previously involved in the project to find out more:
