There were cheers of support and delight heard all throughout our local G.A.A. pitch as we celebrated our end of year Sports Day. A great show of teamwork and sportsmanship was seen on the day and the children all had great fun. A special thanks to Olympics 4 Schools who organised a fantastic day and also to the Parents Association for contributing towards the cost of the day. It was wonderful to see parents on the day getting involved and we hope you enjoyed it too!

On Friday 19 pupils in 6th class  participated in surfing lessons with Paul Buchanan from the Surf School in Strandhill. It was a great learning experience for all and proved a very enjoyable day. Thank you to the Parents Association who funded this trip.

Best of luck to all our pupils and staff who are participating in the local Fun Run in the Park organised by Leitrim Sports Partnership tomorrow at 10.30 am. Please ensure that your child is in full school tracksuit, they may wear shorts underneath if they wish and if they make sure to bring a good drink of water. Parents are very welcome to come and join in on what will be an exciting morning. Feel free to join in on the run or to cheer everyone on. Best of luck gach duine!

Congratulations to the girls from 4th, 5th and 6th class who participated in Cumann na mBunscoil. The girls played two away matches  against Carrigallen and Drumcong. The girls put up a valiant performance on both occasions but unfortunately it was not to be. Carrigallen and Drumcong will now play each other in the final. We wish them well.

The Junior and Senior Infants had great fun showing off the Gaelic football skills that they have acquired over the past few weeks with their first Gaelic Football match. The future of Drumlease N.S. Gaelic football looks safe in the hands of these promising youngsters. Maith Sibh!Big thank you to Séimí and also Rang a IV who helped out on the day!
