Thank you to all pupils, staff and parents who took part in our recent Active Schools Week, especially Sue McGowan who came to the school and did gymnastics with all classes. It was a great week.

It is National Walk to School Week. Please encourage your child to walk each day if the weather permits. Thank you to the Parents Association for supporting the school and buying new goalposts for the yard. We are delighted with them.

Additional Activities:

Kid’s on the Run: A six week running programme under the direction of Keelan Finan. It is hoped that pupils will complete a 5km run in June. Date to be confirmed.

Gaelic Football: Pupils are currently participating in a 10 week Gaelic football training programme with Seamie McMorrow.

Parent Partnership

Mrs Brennan, Parents No Comments »

We are fortunate in Drumlease NS to have parents who give willingly and generously of their time and expertise. Over the last few weeks a group of parents gathered together to power-wash and paint the railings and steps at the front of the school. Parents also helped out with the maintenance of the school garden. On Saturday, parents from 1st and 3rd classes joined together to ensure that the celebration held in the GP room after First Holy Communion was a very special one for all the boys and girls and their families. To everyone who helped out we say “Míle Buíochas”.

Congratulations to the boys and girls in Rang a Dó who made their First Holy Communion last Saturday 12th May in Dromahair Church. The Liturgy was greatly enhanced by the school choir who performed beautifully on the day under the guidance of Mrs Gilroy and accompanist Ronan McGurrin.

We acknowledge the work undertaken by the teachers in preparing the children for the Sacraments. We would also like to thank Fr. Anthony and you the parents in supporting your child in their faith journey.
