Ingredients

  • Tomato purée
  • Onion
  • Basil
  • Can of tomatoes
  • An adult!

Instructions

  1. Ask an adult to chop the onion into fine pieces.
  2. Fry the onion on a medium heat in a frying pan for five minutes until golden.
  3. Add the tomato puréé and stir for two minutes.
  4. Pour in can of tomatoes.
  5. Use back of spatula to mash tomatoes.
  6. Add a teaspoon of dried or fresh, chopped basil.
  7. Cook on medium to low heat for thirty minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 220° for thirty minutes while tomato sauce is reducing.
  9. Reduce the sauce by half.
  10. Spoon some tomato sauce over the pizza, but not all. If your pizza has too much tomato sauce, the base will not cook.
  11. Grate mozzarella cheese on the pizza. Top with pepperoni slices.
  12. Place in oven and cook until golden. This may take twenty to thirty minutes. Ask an adult to help you decide if the pizza is cooked.
  13. Ask an adult to cut into four or eight slices and enjoy!
